Chain link can be made from a thicker gauge and in smaller diamonds to make it harder to climb, harder to cut, and much more durable to impacts. It's also very common to see extended heights with barbed wire and razor ribbon added to the top and base to prevent climbing such as prisons.

The addition of arched top pickets and solid metal panels can be added to ornamental panels to eliminate climbing capabilities. We have used these options at detention centers where privacy and security is necessary.

Expanded metal is a great add-on item that can be used on gates, panels, chain link fence, or manufactured into it's own panel system. The benefits to it is it's durability to price ratio and prevents climbing and power tools are needed to cut it.

Another add-on item, Razor ribbon or razor wire is the big brother to barbed wire. Razor Sharp blades are manufactured into the spool of wire, making it a major deterrent to anyone or anything trying to climb a fence. This can be seen at almost all prisons across the United States.

An entry level to the high security fence world, barbed wire offers a great climbing prevention system at a reasonable price. Barbed wire is two strands of steel or aluminum wire with 4 twisted barbs approximately every 5 inches apart.
